The Importance of Chess in Children
Nowadays, in Colombia, programs for teaching chess in schools and colleges are already being implemented because it has been proven that this ancient game plays a crucial role in children's intellectual development. Chess is not just a game but also a tool that helps develop logical thinking, enabling children to solve problems and make decisions that can lead to victory or defeat—just as in real life. Additionally, it significantly benefits mathematics, as studies have shown that children who play chess are better at solving mathematical problems compared to those who do not play chess.

Children also have the right to participate in school tournaments promoted by chess leagues, with full support from their schools, parents, and teachers. These events encourage them to improve their intellectual development while also fostering friendships with other children during chess tournaments.
